Hollow Bone / The sound pioneer / The doorman
Stephen Sedmak
SRS Labs co-founder. Storyteller. Dragon believer. The elder with wizard energy who would rather call himself a doorman. His first chapter helped change how people heard the world. This one asks what else we might be willing to hear.

✦ Two Halves of One Life
Stephen Sedmak spent the first half of his life building companies. The second half he has spent listening more deeply.
He is the co-founder of SRS Labs, the audio technology company that went public on NASDAQ and partnered with Sony, Samsung, LG, Microsoft, Apple, Dell and Hewlett-Packard. He helped bring immersive sound into the world — and then, nearly three decades ago, he stepped away from business.
He did not retire into comfort. He walked a spiritual road. He became an author, a storyteller, an explorer of consciousness — and what he often calls himself: a doorman.
✦ The Doorman
Not guru. Not authority. Not fixer. A doorman opens the door, steps aside, and lets people discover what life, body and consciousness may already be showing them.
That word matters at Hollow Bone. The initiative is not built around a single teacher. It is built around people willing to hold the threshold — and Stephen has been holding it, quietly, for a long time.
Not guru.
Not authority.
Not fixer.
A doorman.

A Simple Point of View
Ideas and stories exploring how consciousness, energy, and human experience interact — introducing the Human Experience Multiplex and the movement from personality self toward deeper awareness.
Book III

Letting Go of What Has Been to Allow What Can Be
The third movement. What becomes possible when we step beyond old structures and enter what Stephen describes as the field of infinite possibilities.
All book proceeds benefit Shope Creek Wilderness.
✦ The Philosophy
Stephen's work now focuses on awareness, story, energy, and the evolving relationship between consciousness and the world we inhabit.
He describes human experience as a multiplex theater — many wings, many fields of attention. Where attention goes, experience follows. The work is not to escape the wings, but to notice which one you are standing in.
Realization, for Stephen, does not happen in the past. It happens now. Story can move energy. Belief can harden it. The invitation is to let go of what has been, and allow what can be.
✦ From Shope Creek to Hollow Bone
For more than a decade, Stephen and Mary Sedmak stewarded 131 acres outside Asheville. They opened their land to children, teachers, artists, musicians, healers, founders and seekers — and Shope Creek became the birthplace of everything now becoming Hollow Bone.
Stephen articulated the two foundational purposes of the initiative: moving the collective beyond fear, and shifting the nature of exchange. His life, writing, experiments and stewardship of the land provided the philosophical foundation.
Shope Creek proved the vision. Hollow Bone will carry it forward.
